Foodbank Ministry – Sharing God’s Love in Action
At Grace and Faith Community Church, we believe in being the hands and feet of Jesus, especially to the most vulnerable in our society. Our members are actively encouraged to contribute foodstuffs to our church foodbank, which becomes a storehouse of blessing for those in need.
During the Christmas and New Year season, this foodbank plays a key role in our mission to bring joy and provision to an orphanage. Through tangible acts of kindness, we ensure that the children experience the love of Christ in meaningful ways.
The Bible calls us to care for the fatherless and provide for the needy. Proverbs 19:17 reminds us:
“Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will reward them for what they have done.”
Our foodbank ministry allows us to live out this truth by sharing our blessings. The generous contributions from our members provide not only physical nourishment but also a message of hope and belonging to these children, reminding them that they are cherished by God and by their extended family in Christ.
In seasons like Christmas and New Year, we are reminded of Jesus’ words in Acts 20:35:
“It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
By contributing to the foodbank, our members embody this spirit of giving. As Proverbs 22:9 declares:
“The generous will themselves be blessed, for they share their food with the poor.”
Through this ministry, we also fulfill the mandate in Isaiah 58:10:
“If you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday.”
Our church family rejoices in the privilege of being a beacon of light to these children, showing them Christ’s love and making their festive season unforgettable.
